For those of you hoping for a two-CD set from Sweden’s psych/pop Soundtrack Of Our Lives, your prayers have been answered with Communion (Yep Roc). The 24-track set, which includes a cover of Nick Drake’s “Fly,” is due March 3. “This was the easiest, most natural thing we’ve ever recorded,” says lead singer Ebbot Lundberg of the slow-working band’s follow-up to 2005’s Origin Vol. 1. “It really felt like the album created itself, like we had a dream of what the album was supposed to be and then the album became that.”
The group, whose 2002 effort, Behind The Music, was nominated for a Grammy, scrapped plans for what was originally going to be the Origin’s successor, changing direction to focus on a “large-scale mood piece based on the concepts of day and night.” Ah, good plan. Something tells us another Grammy nod isn’t forthcoming.
