Discovery, the combined forces of Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles, has been teasing fans for months on MySpace with a couple of streaming songs from its debut. Said album, titled LP, is set for release on July 7 through XL and features plenty of synth, handclaps, jarring high-hats and, oh, a cover of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.” Batmanglij and Miles both sing, and there are guest appearances from Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian. Check out “Orange Shirt,” a summer disco jam with quirky lyrics such as “Sleep on the train to Tokyo/Google yourself when you get home.”
