Here in Philadelphia, we are buried under two feet of snow, 11 percent of the city is out of work, and we were just ranked by Travel + Leisure magazine as the ugliest city in America for the third year in a row. It is very easy this time of year to forgo the Christmas spirit and harp on the negative. Thankfully, Wisconsin’s Jon Troast is able to deliver a heartfelt folk-tinged ballad to pull us back into the holiday season and remind us that life isn’t all that bad. “The Last Needle” was recorded during the sessions for Troast’s forthcoming album, Living Room.
