The fuzzed-out psychedelia of New York’s White Hills is not for the faint of heart. Recorded in just three days, their self-titled LP (on Thrill Jockey) will burn your mind with electrified labyrinths of screeching desolation, Hawkwind-esque riffs and narcotic rhythms. First single “Dead” is the aural equivalent of the scene in Raiders Of The Lost Ark where the Nazis’ flesh melts off their bodies until they are reduced to nothing more than puddles of skin and blood. The band is planning an extensive tour of Europe this spring.
