Mike Stroud and Evan Mast, the New York City-based electro-indie twosome known as Ratatat, have released yet another bouncing arrangement with their newest single, “Party With Children” (off LP4, out June 8 via XL). Indeed, their Mario Bros. “I just won the fifth level” mid-song mash-up conjures nostalgia for the long post-school afternoons glued to the screen and punching handheld controls. The rest of the piece is synthetic salsa, chips included. The quick beats and electric guitar jangles twist into a millenial ethnic feast. Like most of the duo’s past work, this song is uniquely groove-worthy.
