Film At 11: Chatham County Line

Wildwood (Yep Roc) is fifth full-length from this bluegrass quartet. The boys hail from Raleigh, N.C., which, in case you’re not up on your Carolina geography, is actually in Wake County. Wake shares its western border with more rural neighbor Chatham. (How rural, you ask? The U.S. census tells us that less than 20 percent of county residents live in an incorporated town. So. Pretty rural.) The members of Chatham County Line, however, have become quite the globetrotters, selling out shows in the U.S. and Europe, making their Canadian debut last year and guesting on the BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland. Wildwood sees the band expanding its repertoire a bit. But while Zeke Hutchins’ guest drumming on “Crop Comes In” brings a new dimension to the album version of the song, the band seems to have stuck close to home for the track’s video: four guys, four suits, wide-open four-part harmonies. And some good ol’ fashioned Pork Barrel BBQ Sauce.
