Former MAGNET guest editors OK Go will kick off an extensive North American tour October 3. Also, the band has partnered with Indaba Music and the Rock Band Network for a remix contest for the single “White Knuckles,” which will run from September 7 through October 14. The winner will have his or her remix mastered and made available for download on Rock Band and will also receive a gaming console, Rock Band 3 and a set of Rock Band instruments … Check out The Wilderness Downtown, an interactive film by Chris Milk using Google Chrome and HTML5 technology, featuring Arcade Fire’s “We Used To Wait.” Arcade Fire will support its killer third album, The Suburbs, on tour this fall … Neil Young collaborated with musician/producer Daniel Lanois on his new solo album, Le Noise, which will be released September 28 on Reprise Records … In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Doolittle, the Pixies are embarking on the second leg of their Doolittle Tour (on which they will perform the album in its entirety) and are offering fans the chance to purchase a limited-edition CD of each night’s performance about 10 minutes after the show ends … On October 1 and 2, Yoko Ono will reprise “We Are Plastic Ono Band” at L.A.’s Orpheum Theatre, featuring appearances by Iggy Pop, Lady Gaga, the RZA, Perry Farrell, Carrie Fisher, Vincent Gallo, Haruomi Hosono, Harper Simon, Nels Cline, Mike Watt, Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore … The Soft Boys are reissuing two albums via Yep Roc: Underwater Moonlight and A Can of Bees, both on CD and vinyl featuring bonus-track downloads free with purchase … Fresh off a tour with Kings Of Leon, Built To Spill just hit the road for its own headlining tour across the U.S. in support of last year’s There Is No EnemyBlack Heart Procession is releasing a limited-edition mini-album October 12. Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit (Temporary Residence Limited) features three brand-new songs, plus collaborations with Lee “Scratch” Perry and Eluvium. Black Heart Procession will celebrate the album on tour with the Books this fall. Download “Blank Page”Funstyle is Liz Phair’s first new album in five years, and it’s out on October 19 via Rocket Science Ventures along with bonus disc Girlysound, a collection of demos and rare tracks predating 1993’s Exile in Guyville. Phair will play several West Coast dates in October … Capitol/EMI is releasing The Very Best Of Crowded House on October 26. The album commemorates Crowded House’s 25th anniversary and features the band’s top hits and fan favorites spanning its entire career … Dead Meadow has announced original-lineup reunion shows in California this October before the band heads to Australia for a brief tour … On October 26, the War On Drugs is releasing Future Weather via Secretly Canadian.
