Floating between ephemeral and ghostly vocals, heavy hitting percussion and sharp psychedelic guitars, Mr. Gnome plays experimental music that’s infectious. With Nicole Barille and Sam Meister splitting instrumental duties, it’s quite impressive to hear how full of a sound the pair can create. After hearing just one of their teaser samples, I went to their site and bought up everything they had released as of Oct. 6th, all 3 albums were only $25! I got them in TWO days! Even my impatience at not having a digital download version could not complain at that fast shipping and over a weekend too! The 1st of the 3 album CDs lived in my stereo for several weeks, on repeat at least 16 hours a day every day, just could not believe my ears, finally moved on to the other 2 the same way. Now I’m back listening online while CD is playing too. Did I say their sound is addictive? LOL. Her voice is incredible in the way Portishead’s vocals are, but the fact that only TWO people are producing all of this is the miracle to me! Best music deal I’ve ever received. Now I’ll have to wait awhile before a 4th album comes out, I’m greedy, want a LOT more of their sound.
