The immediate static-to-noise ratio is beyond comprehension on “(This Is) The Dream Of Evan And Chan,” but slowly and assuredly, the song grasps some sort of structure. Soon you can make out the drum-machine beat, and finally, Ben Gibbard jumps on the mic. If you couldn’t hear the similarities already, it’s noteworthy to mention that Dntel (a.k.a. Jimmy Tamborello) is the other half of the Postal Service. Sub Pop will be re-issuing Dntels’ debut release, Life Is Full Of Possibilities, on October 24 as an expanded, re-mastered version to mark its 10-year anniversary. If that weren’t enough already, the label will also be releasing new music from Dntel in the form of two companion EPs, After Parties 1 and After Parties 2, on December 7.
