Released earlier this year, Last Night On Earth (Universal Mercury) is Noah And The Whale’s third full-length and first real chart-topper. On it, the British quartet embraces a bigger, more radio-ready sound. The band’s new songs invite more than a few Tom Petty comparisons, none more warranted than late-album track “Waiting For My Chance To Come,” which is a more patient version of “Won’t Back Down.” Somewhere between a multi-country summer tour and a string of U.K. shows in October, the guys found time to release a video for the song. Complete with really big rusty boats and James Dean hair swooshes, the new video, well, doesn’t back down from Last Night’s less folksy, more expansive sound
