MP3 At 3PM: Bear Lake

Bear Lake, a band made up of six lifelong friends, has been creating moody, atmospheric rock since it formed in 2007. Based out of Rochester, Mich., the group has been getting prominent airtime on shows like Bones and One Tree Hill. “Breaking Me Down,” a cut from newest album If You Were Me (it’s out tomorrow), is the best introduction to Bear Lake’s groove. With an ecclectic mix of electronic, rock and piano-based elements, as well as frontman Matt Hines’ calm, Ben Gibbard-esque vocals, “Breaking Me Down” is the perfect relaxing weekend song. You can catch them on tour in New York City and Chicago throughout October and November. Download “Breaking Me Down” below.
