The Spring Standards‘ two-EP set Yellow//Gold offers a pair of different pieces that share related stories that compliment one another. Yellow tells tales of the trio’s shared childhoods playing folk music together on the Pennsylvania/Delaware border. It also shines light on the band’s ability to harmonize and showcase its endearing lyricism. Gold, on the other hand, is a declaration of young life in the Big Apple with piano, strings and bold percussion. Together, the two EPs create a rich experience of sound and emotion.
