From The Desk Of The Spinto Band’s Nick Krill: Artists On The Loose

The members of Wilmington, Del.’s Spinto Band have been playing together since the mid-1990s, when they were still in high school. A decade and a half later finds Nick Krill (vocals/guitar), Thomas Hughes (bass/vocals), Jeffrey Hobson (drums), Sam Hughes (keyboards), Joey Hobson (guitar) perfecting pop sounds on the recent full-length, Shy Pursuit, in their newly built recording studio, scoring films, starting a record label and searching for the perfect cup of coffee. They will also be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our brand new Q&A with Krill.

Krill: Aside from listening to things, I like to look at things, too. Here are some people who make real nice things to look at.

Amelia Midori Miller
I love Amelia’s Woody Allen paintings, and her new work is really cool, too.

Elaine Stocki
Elaine makes it more fun to look at people.

Catharine Maloney
Catharine appears to be a Star Trek (the original series) “Space Babe.”

Bryan Christopher Baker
This man and his letterpress cannot be stopped.

Emily Diehl
Emily makes prints that can seem natural and completely fantastical all at the same time.

Art after the jump.
