The Memorials were started by a Bay Area drumming prodigy named Thomas Pridgen, after he spent years playing with the Mars Volta. And Prigden’s hard-rock history and musical prowess are obvious in the band’s music. “Daisies,” a blistering track of sophomore album Delirium (Bloodthirsty Unicorn), practically showcases Prigden’s skillful drumming while integrating it with some heavy guitar riffing and Viveca Hawkins’ melodic vocals. Everything gets layered, and the song builds on itself until it reaches an apex of cacophony. Download “Daisies” below.
