From playing music to installing sliding-glass doors to playing music again, it just seems Jake Bellows can’t remove music from his life. Collaborating with Ryan Fox, Todd Fink, Ben Brodin and Heath Koontz, Bellows released “Help” in 2012. Now, Bellows is creating music on his own that still mixes his interest of physics, cosmology and mythology. He just released new album New Ocean, which features “All Right Now.” Check out the mix tape Bellows made for MAGNET below.

The Only Ones “The Whole Of The Law”
Illustrating the sensitive hearts of tough punks everywhere. Video
Smokey Robinson “Being With You”
What the f? Is that really his voice? It’s totally awesome. That’s what. Video
The Wailers “It Hurts To Be Alone”
The most simple and profound observations; it feels like it comes directly from the mind of the sweetest sad child. Video
Barbara Mason “Yes, I’m Ready”
Oh, all of the things we’re willing to learn for the ones we think we love. The sad desperation of humanity. Video
The Dead Milkmen “Dollar Signs In Her Eyes”
Some enlightened sentiments about the caustic effect that money has had on our ability to see the world clearly, from one of my favorite bands. Video
Lavender Diamond “Everybody’s Heart Is Breaking Now”
An absolutely beautiful song tracing the lines of our collective experience and punctuated by a voice that comes right out of the air around us. Video
The Faint “Unseen Hand”
I find myself looking for the unseen hand. Who among us doesn’t search for someone behind the curtain watching and controlling these seemingly chaotic and untamed forces of the universe? Video
Daniel Johnston “Livin Life”
“Hold me like a mother would/Like I always knew that somebody should, yeah/Though tomorrow, don’t look that good.” We are just desperate for love, and rarely has it been better said. Video
Hortense Ellis “Cry Together”
I think Hortense has an incredible voice and a special presence. I just wanted to share. Love this song. Video
Kim Deal “Walking With A Killer”
One of the greatest songwriters and musicians all-time. An inspiration, and always full of surprises. Awesome. Video
