Film At 11: Those Darlins

Celebrate female anatomy in the video for Those Darlins‘ “Optimist,” which is the first single off of their upcoming LP, Blur The Line. This is the follow-up to 2011’s Screws Get Loose and their third long-player on the Oh Wow Dang label. The Nashville band is touring extensively from late August through late November, hitting a large fraction of the US of A. Watch “Optimist” below.

This is depressing. Everything we fought for, that our mothers and grandmothers fought for, was so that we could have careers, dreams, and choices that transcended our anatomy. Between this and the Miley Cyrus debacle, I don’t know what’s worse.

@AveFeminist – for me this video celebrates the sexual power that your brand of feminism seeks to mask or destroy. And it’s a big middle finger aimed at the right wing men who are legislating women’s bodies as we speak. Your comment comes off as condescending to the grown women who were a part this video and typical of academic feminists: suffocating, doctrinaire, and prudish. Grow up.
