From The Desk Of Tim Easton: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

TimEastonLogoTim Easton has been singing and writing songs since he was 14 years old. He never considered another career. After finishing college, Easton hit the road with his guitar and spent seven years singing and playing on European street corners. When he got back to Ohio, Easton joined the Haynes Boys, a roots-rock outfit that made one album before breaking up. Free again, Easton picked up his guitar and returned to the road, touching down long enough to make nine albums that earned him a loyal following with their blend of gritty roots-rock and heartfelt songwriting. Every LP took a slightly different approach and his latest, Not Cool, shows off his love of rockabilly and early R&B. Easton will be quest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our new feature on him.

Easton: This is another case of being extremely satisfied with the product of a given company, and simply telling the truth in that it is completely solid and may even enrich your life. It’s also a case of hometown pride, as this supurb ice-cream vendor originated in my college town of Columbus, Ohio. It won’t be long until they overtake Ben & Jerry’s as the pint you grab in the middle of the night. Mark my words. If you were the investment-making type, you’re probably all over it. Quality ingredients and inventive flavors is the reason this business will grow and grow. After my daughter learned to speak, we would go there, and I would ask her if she thought sitting at Jeni’s sharing ice-cream was maybe the greatest thing in the universe. She agreed, not having much reference. I know it had more to do with family than endorphins, but Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams provided the venue.
