Sultans Of Swing: Touring The U.S., Mark Knopfler Proves The Boy Can Still Play

August was a big month for Mark Knopfler. The Dire Straits frontman turned 70 and also toured the U.S. for the first time in four years. Supporting ninth solo album Down The Road Wherever, Knopfler played two nights at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. MAGNET photographer Wes Orshoski was there for the first show, enjoying all the laughs and jokes and drinks and smokes.
