Isolation Drills: Sound Photographers

Like the majority of you, all of us in the Philadelphia area are staying at home, learning to adapt to our “new normal.” MAGNET is checking in with local musicians to see how and what they’re doing during this unprecedented time. Photos by Chris Sikich.

Sound Photographers: It’s terrible that the world has had to deal with this pandemic and that it’s taken so many loved ones. We’ve been grateful for our health, the health of our friends and family, and having time to create.

Just before it hit, we had just started performing in Philly and building our presence. COVID obviously stopped all of that, as it spread like fire. Since isolation, we’ve focused on building our catalog and networking safely with other artists and creatives in the Philly area.

In lieu of performing, we decided to release records monthly to continue building our sound and our presence. And because we love our fans, we have taken this plan into this new year, ready to grace the stage again safely, with many singles, EPs and albums set to be released. It’s far from a blessing, but we are grateful that we have been able to focus our energy and direct it tactfully over the past year.

As for what the future holds for us, we’re committed to our community. The country needs to rebuild and recover, and nobody knows what that is going to look like.

Our role as artists is to create and and share. We are always looking for ways to give back to our community, and as things open up little by little, we will be searching for ways to contribute by way of benefit concerts and fundraisers.

To everyone reading: Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay tuned.
