Backseat Dreamer is the manifestation of Southern boy Sean Neuse’s best hallucination. Its latest creation, “Consider,” is the song you hear in the background as you imagine yourself in the leather seat of a white-stretch limo, dressed to impress on the arm of a model-esque New York City bigwig, two flutes of Cristal in, speeding through Times Square, your retinas massaged with every visual stimulant imaginable. Neuse strings together synths that extend into the endless night, layered with hushed vocals barely distinguishable from the electronic soundscape, welding man and machine to create a musical force unparalleled in crisp sophistication. On July 13, Backseat Dreamer releases its debut, The Colors of Dreams, They’re In You (Stickfigure), so that you can close your eyes and prolong the reverie.
