The Brooklyn-based Callers originate from New Orleans and spent some time in Providence, R.I., so new album Life Of Love (out today via Western Vinyl) is the first record the band wrote and recorded as an NYC band. Callers recorded the LP with borrowed equipment both at home and in studios, and the result is grittier and louder. The first song the trio worked on for Life Of Love was “Heartbeat,” a cover of the 1978 Wire classic. (Steve Albini’s Big Black also covered it in 1987.) Download Callers’ version below.
