Early last year saw the demise of MAGNET fave Port O’Brien, which led frontman Van Pierszalowski to seeking solitude, winding up in Oslo, Norway. A slight creative hiatus seemed to be all Pierszalowski needed, because eventually, the craving to write crept back. While taking the year to travel to familiar escapes such as Alaska and California, he finally landed back in Norway, where his new project, Waters, was born. He quickly collected bandmates to rehearse, and two months later, the group found itself in Texas to record with producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Explosions In The Sky, Walkmen) over only 10 days. “For The One” is from debut Out In The Light (TBD), which is a myriad of visually stunning effects mixed with smoke screens, a dreamcatcher and a trippy bicycle ride among an odd array of characters.
