Wooden Wand (a.k.a. the prolific James Jackson Toth) will release his next album on November 22. Briarwood (Fire) is the product of Toth’s latest musical venture: working with the Briarwood Virgins, a group out of Birmingham, Ala. The band members are Toth’s best friend Brian Lowery and musicians from Gum Creek Killers and Through The Sparks. The album was recorded from scratch and in person at Ol Elegante Studios in Homewood, Ala., with the help of Duquette Johnson and Les Nuby (Verbena). To seasoned Wooden Wand fans, “Big Mouth USA” feels like rock ‘n’ roll, with a lighter folk vibe than previous albums. Download it below.
