From The Desk Of The Love Language: Reddit

LoveLanguageLogoThe Love Language’s Ruby Red (Merge) was supposed to be finished more than a year ago. “I can definitely overthink stuff,” says Stuart McLamb, the band’s singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist and only full-time member. Over the next year, McLamb wound up throwing away some old songs, writing some new ones and recording the whole album all over again, bouncing between 21 musicians and four cities before he and co-producer B.J. Burton decided they were done. It was one of those times when recording was harder than writing, but now that it’s all in the past, McLamb describes himself as “genuinely happy.” McLamb will  be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all week. Read our brand-new feature on the band.

Reddit

McLamb: There’s a lot of pictures of cats and stupid memes, but for the most part it’s where I get my news. There’s any “sub-reddit” you can think of for special interests, and I like the idea that it’s run by the people. It’s basically a place you can post anything or post a link to anything. Then the millions of users sift through it all and either vote it up or down. Then the front page is what is most appealing/relevant/true to the populace. They’ve done a good job of raising awareness of issues mainstream media doesn’t touch or tries to keep quiet as well as exposing crooked politicians/companies/organizations. Kind of like a colony of ants attacking a bigger beast. And it’s worked. I think it’s going to be the future. Not sure exactly how but something similar. A platform where everyone can meet at to make big changes culturally, politically, etc.

Video after the jump.
