Back to releasing music on their own after a one-album stint with Brooklyn’s Better Company label, coed indie-pop foursome Coral Moons are gearing up for new phase. “Made Up My Mind” is the initial salvo. Frontwoman Carly Kraft is calling it the “ultimate cottagecore anthem,” which begs for some context.
“Cottagecore” is an internet-bred aesthetic and subculture that celebrates the sort of rural lifestyle the members of Coral Moons have been reveling in since moving from Boston to upstate New York, where they apparently do a lot of gardening and record in a home studio in the woods.
“The song is a rebellious coming-of-age story, romanticizing an escape from society into fantasy,” says Kraft. “We’re celebrating being bold and making hard decisions while still being yourself and finding inner peace.”
And who couldn’t use a little more inner peace?
We’re proud to premiere Coral Moons’ “Made Up My Mind.”
