MAGNET Exclusive: Premiere Of The Imaginaries’ “Constant”

The Imaginaries’ Maggie McClure wrote “Constant” in a single sitting as an attempt to reach out to her husband after a rough day.

“I wanted to let him know that no matter what happens in life, I’ll be here with him through it all,” she says.

McClure’s significant other, Shane Henry, is also her partner in the Imaginaries, an Oklahoma-based Americana duo that’s readying its self-released sophomore LP, Fever, for an August 22 street date. Recorded in Alabama at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with legendary Swampers session players, the album also features contributions from country icon Vince Gill, blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and Canadian slide-guitar innovator Ariel Posen.

Aside from their work as the Imaginaries, McClure is an accomplished music supervisor, and Henry is co-founder of Westerlund Audio guitar-pedal company. To date, the songwriting pair has more than 75 movie, TV and advertising placements. They scored and co-starred in the 2022 feature film A Cowgirl’s Song, and they also appear in the upcoming holiday flick The One. With such a jam-packed schedule, there’s bound to be a few crummy days.

“It’s OK to not have it all figured out,” says McClure. “Just take it one step at a time, and if we remember where true north is, there’s no way to get lost.”

We’re proud to premiere the Imaginaries’ “Constant.”
