Of The Dell’s spunky new single couldn’t be farther removed from the rustic Appalachian vibe you’d expect from band that hails from West Virginia. Instead, twin brothers Corey and Cody Hatton sound like they’ve been subsisting on a steady diet of power pop and college rock, namely Big Star, the Gin Blossoms and the Connells. About the nearest the Huntington-based duo comes to playing to type on “Care If I Ride?” is hiring Tyler Childers collaborator Kory Caudill to produce the thing.
“The song is kind of about loss—or what could have been,” says Corey. “We made some changes, and I had some stuff going on that reflected those feelings. Life brings loss, but we can always have memories.”
We’re proud to premiere Of The Dell’s “Care If I Ride?”
