65 years ago today, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr recorded music together for the first time, backing a singer named Lu Walters. They did a cover of George Gershwin’s “Summertime” at a tiny studio in Hamburg. Just less than two years later, Starr joined the Beatles. All together now.
