Hillary Reynolds wrote “Changing Seasons” with producer Benjamin Kopf back in 2018. “I popped up to Sacramento from Los Angeles for a little writing retreat, and he showed me a gorgeous guitar part he’d been toying with for a while,” she says. “We were in his parents’ sunroom and, as clichéd as it sounds, the lyrics came pouring out. I started thinking about the passage of time about how love changes as we change.”
Since moving to L.A. several years ago, the Wisconsin native has found some success as a songwriter. Her work has been recorded by Little Big Town and Dani Rose, and it’s also landed on the hit series Yellowstone and Loudermilk. After seven years, “Changing Seasons” continued to resonate on a personal level—and it became the title track for her self-released solo debut, out now.
“It’s about dropping into the beauty of the moment and allowing yourself to be present—and choosing to do that over and over and over and over again,” says Reynolds, who collaborated with the Wisconsin-based New Normal Studios for the video. “Being in front of the camera is not usually my cup of tea, but we ended up having a lot of fun together, creating a sweet little time-travel visual for the song.”
We’re proud to premiere Hilary Reynolds’ “Changing Seasons” video.
