Athens, Ga.-based four-piece Twin Tigers is undoubtedly the creative lovechild of Matthew Rain and Aimee Morris. Former lovers/co-workers, Rain and Morris called their romance quits for the sake of the band. After hearing a few tracks off their debut album, Gray Waves (Old Flame), it’s clear that they made the right choice. A mix of gritty noise pop with a side of shoegaze charm, Twin Tigers’ use of feedback and fuzzy vocals creates the perfect backdrop to the band’s pensive lyricism.
