The fifth video from Metric‘s self-released Fantasies, “Stadium Love” runs on pure animal instinct. While her band members jerk and spasm behind her from the energy and power of their instruments, singer Emily Haines taunts you with her droopy eyelids and borderline-street-walking getup while jumping and singing about the ultimate “battle royale” in which every species in the animal kingdom fights until only the almighty remains. Her act is spliced with clips of animals in states of pure physical exertion, leaping and craning their necks to pierce their opponent’s. And if the video doesn’t leave your heart racing and pupils dilated, the scene in which she strokes a lion while looking right at you will.
