Birthmark is the alias of Chicago’s Nate Kinsella, who has played in bands such as Make Believe, Joan Of Arc and Owen. His second album as a solo artist, Shaking Hands, took three years to finish, but it’s well worth the wait, as even the b-sides from the sessions are captivating. “Be However You Please,” which premieres here today, sounds like it was recorded on a faraway deserted beach, with sparse percussion and dreamy vocals over a constant wash of water. The album is out December 14 on Hidden Agenda Records. Following the LP’s release, he’ll head over to Europe for a tour and return to the U.S. for some dates early next year.
