From The Desk Of The Faint: Three-Legged Cats

Nearly six years after the release of strangely desiccated 2008 album Fasciinatiion and one lengthy stroll down wait-is-this-a-hiatus-or-a-break-up? lane, the Faint has reemerged from the shadows to deliver up Doom Abuse—a vital, manic comeback triumph shellacked in an exquisite devil-may-fucking-care electro-sheen. Guitarist Dapose will be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all wee. Read our brand new Q&A with him.

Cat

Dapose: We have a three-legged cat that we got when he was a month old. He got his back right leg stuck in some farm equipment, and the momma chewed off the leg to save its little-bitty life. Three-legger’s are just sweet and playful and happy as can be. He gets around great but is definitely more comfortable on the carpeted areas of our house, and especially the bed! Eugene has a louder walk than most feline stealth bombers. He kind of sounds like an old man coming in the room with a thud. Thud. Thud. Thudthudthud. The coolest thing we noticed was when he runs up the stairs, which he does super fast, is he only uses two feet. So the back left and front right go back and forth really fast. dodododododododo up the stairs and the other front arm is held up still and is the only thing you can focus on when you see him and it makes him look like he is flying! Super cat!
