New York City’s Flying Machines will release their self-titled debut album on September 22. Their sound could be described as a combination of Maroon 5 and the Who; download “Talk About It” below. The melody and lyrical content bring you back to the pop/rock music of the late ’90s, while the vocals and guitar riffs are pure late ’70s/early ’80s. This might be the start of the power ballad’s comeback.

I’m sure these are swell lads and all, but that was rough–thought I was back in high school, circa 1989, riding around with my friends listening to some bad faux-metal radio station. Not exactly the kind of memory I was hoping to relive tonight, I can tell you.
I think they’re hot.
And they aren’t just playing what’s on the radio now, i like them.
