York, Pa.’s Pariah Piranha just released its debut album, People People, on Queer Control Records, a San Francisco label devoted to promoting gay artists. Produced by Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Frank Black, They Might Be Giants), People People wears its ’90s alternative influences on its sleeve. (Its ripped, baggy, flannel sleeve, that is.) is this “gay rock”?…hmmm…i don’t “feel” gay when i listen to it…..weird. well it still sounds ok…i just hope this isn’t some kind of agendafied thing…let’s just stick to the rock n’ roll shall we?
