Headlights went through a lot of drama while making its new LP, Wildife (Polyvinyl). For the Illinois band, the year saw the addition of a new guitarist (John Owen) and bassist (Nick Sanborn), but a few months of recording led to the band ultimately abandoning its work on the project thus far; then Owen left the group. Headlights, however, have just released an album with no signs of such heaviness. The whispering vocals and upbeat tempo result in a sound that’s both sweet and sad, but most of all, it begs you to listen. Download “Get Going” below.
