Caribou (a.k.a. Dan Snaith) had one of 2007’s most critically lauded albums, Andorra, and is now set to drop full-length follow up Swim (Merge) on April 20. This LP could shake things up. Lead single “Odessa” comes as a bit of a surprise; it’s very different from Andorra‘s analog indie-rock sound, and you can dance to it. Of the recording, Snaith says, “I got excited by the idea of making dance music that’s liquid in the way it flows back and forth, the sounds slosh around in pitch, timbre, pan … dance music that sounds like it’s made out of water rather than made out of metallic stuff like most dance music does.”
