Film At 11: Superchunk

Superchunk is soon releasing its first album in almost a decade, Majesty Shredding (Merge). To prepare, here’s a live video of the band performing “Cast Iron” and “The First Part” at Merge XX last year. For starters, the video proves a few gray hairs can’t stop these guys. Mac McCaughan moves compulsively, shaking, jumping, throwing around his guitar and screaming into the microphone the entire 10 minutes, while Laura Ballance, lipstick smudged and hair soaked with sweat, never has her feet on the ground as she plays the bass.
