Frenchkiss Records labelmate and Antlers keyboardist Dabry Cicci decided to take on the poppier Freelance Whales. Cicci’s remix is a creepier, subdued—at moments danceable—cacophony of the Whales’ banjos, cellos, glockenspiels and more. Dubbed “Killer Whales,” this remix takes the band’s multi-instrumental parts from three songs of its recent debut, Weathervanes, including frontman Judah Dadone’s repetitious lyrics “believe me” and “it’s not easy” (from “Kilojoules”), and spins it into orbit. And as a bonus, here’s an mp3 of album track “Generator Second Floor.”
