Singer/songwriter Jana Hunter has had a hand in a multitude of musical projects (including a split LP with Devendra Banhart) and drifted around as a solo artist for a while. Now, she finds a home in Baltimore-based quartet Lower Dens; the band’s debut album, Twin-Hand Movement, is due out July 20 via Gnomonsong. Lower Dens is currently on a U.S. tour leading up to the release alongside fellow Baltimore natives Future Islands. Check out “Hospice Gates,” a new-wave dream with drone-y, fuzzy guitars under Hunter’s smoky vocals.
