Hamacide, the solo project of Brooklyn producer Yusuke Hama, has just released its debut album, Mighty Little Machine (Stubtail). This is not, however, Hama’s first foray into making music. In 2007, he worked on a collaborative project with fellow Brooklyn artist Laurel Wells called Leyode. Hama will soon be remixing Leyode’s sole album, Fascinating Tininess, and releasing it as an EP. The first single from Mighty Little Machine, “Carnies” is a heavily beat-driven piece that features the haunting vocals of Chicago gospel singer Fielded.
