As on previous albums, Kelley Stoltz plays most of the instruments on his upcoming To Dreamers (out October 12 via Sub Pop), although his band performed on two of the LP’s tracks. (One is a cover of 1965 hit “Baby I Got News For You” by British songwriter “Big Boy Pete” Miller, who contributed vocals and guitar to Stoltz’s version.) The 13-song To Dreamers adds a bit of a late-’70s post-punk edge to Stoltz’s patented pop/rock, though “I Don’t Get That,” which you can download below, is all sweet-’60s pop and a perfect song for the end of summer. Stoltz and band have no new tour dates set just yet, but they will be playing a show later this month in their hometown of San Francisco. In the meantime, read our 2006 feature on Stoltz.
