When we heard “new BoDeans video,” we were kind of hoping for a montage of live clips set to “Closer To Free” ahead of a new best-of. No major cause for complaint, though, because the BoDeans still deliver quality roots rock nearly 30 years into their career. Take “Headed For The End Of The World.” Its rolling drums and repetitive guitar riff bring to mind R.E.M.’s “King Of Birds,” and with Kurt Neumann and Sam Llanas’ vocals, the song feels kind of like an easygoing call to arms. Or that could be the fact that this video is a tie-in with Countdown To Zero, a new documentary that calls for nuclear disarmament around the world.
