MP3 At 3PM: Husky Rescue - Magnet Magazine

There are a lot of things about Finnish collective Husky Rescue’s third album, Ship Of Light (Catskills), that will intrigue you enough to take a listen. It’s said to have been inspired by reports of a UFO sighting in Helsinki, and band founder Marko Nyberg often employed the use of the obscure Memorymoog, fulfilling a childhood dream. Plus, the opening track was recorded in the middle of a forest, using an ancient sound instrument used to keep evil spirits away. Somehow, all these factors combine to create a rather haunting, spiritual quality. Here’s the Black Grass “refix” of album track “Fast Lane,” which we are proud to premiere for download today.
