In The News: Iron And Wine, Pixies, Weezer, Lykke Li, Tom Petty, The Stooges, Cornershop And More

Iron And Wine returns in January with Kiss Each Other Clean (Warner Bros.), its first new material in an agonizing three years. The band will also embark on a brief tour in November … On October 13, the night 33 miners were rescued in Chile after being trapped underground for 69 days, the Pixies played 33 songs in a headlining show at the Teatro La Cupula in Santiago. A short video clip of Black Francis’ introduction of the performance can be found here … Weezer’s extremely prolific career continues with the November 2 release of Death To False Metal, which consists of brand-new songs created from revamped versions of previously unreleased recordings from the late ‘90s to more recent years. And on November 26, the band hits the road for “The Memories Tour,” driven by State Farm, consisting of two-night residencies in five cities where the band will perform albums Weezer (a.k.a “The Blue Album) and Pinkerton, plus sets of greatest hits … In anticipation of her upcoming sophomore album, Lykke Li is releasing “Get Some” on October 25. The two-track single will be available digitally as well as a limited seven-inch … On November 9, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’ classic Damn The Torpedoes is being reissued as an expanded and remastered deluxe edition … Rhino is releasing the StoogesHave Some Fun: Live At Ungano’s on November 16, which contains footage from the band’s previously unreleased 1970 show in support of Fun House … Husband-and-wife duo Ben & Vesper’s sophomore album, Honors (Sounds Familyre), is out January 25 and features a guest appearance from Sufjan Stevens on piano … For the first time in eight years, Cornershop will tour the U.S., starting November 11. Plus, the band will release a four-song EP, Battle Of New Orleans (Ample Play), on November 2.
