Maybe Stephen Becker is who Ween had in mind when they wrote “Dr. Rock.” The Le Concorde main man has a Ph.D. in architectural theory, and his brand of ‘80s-influenced synth pop can definitely be described as brainy. This week, Le Concorde released third album House (Le Grand Magistery), which features Becker collaborating with Scritti Politti’s David Gamson, one of his musical heroes. Though he recorded the LP while living in Chicago, Becker has since made the move back to his native West Coast and now resides in Los Angeles.
