Film At 11: The Dandy Warhols

Indie-rock stars the Dandy Warhols are commemorating a 12-year stretch of TV-show-theme-song-worthy hits with The Capitol Years: 1995-2007 (Capitol/EMI). The video for “This Is The Tide” rolls out a culture/time-period fusion, featuring clips of ’20s-era dance numbers of pinups doing high kicks and the band’s drummer wearing a Sir Francis Drake frilly tunic, interspersed with a bacchanalian feast that probably resembles a flapper version of the Dandys’ past 15 years together. The song itself is fast-paced garage rock, with swift percussion and Rolling Stones guitar chords, showing that Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Co. might need to make a post-2007 hits compilation.
