Today we have two outstanding downloadable tracks from Tyvek‘s sophomore album, Nothing Fits (In The Red). While both of the songs are noticeably cleaned up compared to the Detroit foursome’s previous releases, they each show a different side of Tyvek: the brash, rock playful side and the spazzy, pop playful side. “Underwater To” is heavy and boppy, and it shows exactly what makes this noise-pop outfit unique in the current lo-fi wars. It is Nothing Fits opener “4312,” however, that captures on record what’s so special about Tyvek’s compellingly shaggy-yet-succinct, Crass-meets-Japandroids live shows. Dig into both songs with two hands, but be careful of glass shards, and catch Tyvek on its North American tour this month starting January 13 at Cleveland’s Beachland Ballroom.
