The third album from Montreal’s Young Galaxy was conceived by some bold and distant channels. Due out February 8 via the Paper Bag label, Shapeshifting was created by the band, then sent to Swedish producer Dan Lissvik to be recreated. As a result, Young Galaxy heard Shapeshifting for the first time transmitted over Skype. Album tracks “Peripheral Visionaries” and “Cover Your Tracks” take listeners thought shimmering, rolling expanses, highlighted by intimate duets and standout background chants.
