The Hold Steady is already having a busy 2011 with the release of the iTunes Live At Soho session on Tuesday and plans for tours of the U.S., U.K. and Australia. Oh, and the band also has a song featured in the new Vince Vaughan comedy, The DilemmaThe Dodos are releasing fourth LP No Color on March 15 via Frenchkiss Records. A spring tour supporting the record will be announced soon … If you were one of the unlucky people who missed out on one of Broken Social Scene’s sold-out shows this fall, you’ll finally get to see them in action January 18, when YouTube will stream the band’s performance at Terminal 5 in New York City … Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola recruited Dan Deacon to score his upcoming film, Twixt Now And Sunrise, which will star Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Ben Chaplin and Elle Fanning. Deacon is also playing several shows all over North America in the next few months … Panda Bear (a.k.a. Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox) has finally completed his fourth album, Tomboy. He’ll release it via his Paw Tracks label on April 19 … On April 12, Meat Puppets will return with new album Lollipop on Megaforce Records … Josh Homme’s Rekords Rekords label joined up with Domino Records to promote and distribute selected titles from its catalog. Naturally, the first release will be an expanded and remastered reissue of Queens Of The Stone Age’s self-titled debut on March 1 … Forbidden Friends is the new project of Hutch Harris, lead singer of the Thermals. The band plans to release its first single on March 15 via Kill Rock Stars … The 19th annual Noise Pop Festival (which will take place February 22-27 in San Francisco) has announced new additions to its lineup, including Ben Gibbard, No Age, Aesop Rock, Kimya Dawson, Best Coast, Geographer, Ted Leo, Wavves, Yo La Tengo and many others … After a whopping 19-year hiatus, the Feelies have reunited to bring us new album Here Before, which will be out this spring on Bar/None Records.
